Outreach & impact

Spreading FIRST robotics through workshops, events, and partnerships.

Our impact

This season we ran 15 community outreach events, two international outreach efforts, and a community service project — over 120 volunteer hours reaching more than 21,000 people.

Londonderry YMCA. With our sister team Blue Box, we introduced FLL and FTC to children, parents, and professionals at the YMCA board meeting, and we’ve helped form and mentor six FLL Challenge and Explore teams there.

Plaistow Public Library. We brought FLL and FTC to the next generation with game challenges from past seasons, robot soccer, and a short presentation on FIRST.

Thunder Over NH Airshow. We showed off our robots and taught children and adults to drive them, reaching over 20,000 attendees.

MIT Undergraduate Research Technology Conference. We showcased our robots to undergraduates and professors from around the world, connecting with FIRST alumni and sharpening our presentation skills.

Wicked STEM Festival. We shared the only scoring robot in the FTC booth — plus a robot dog that drew the crowd — with kids and professionals.

Hosting events. We hosted the NH FIRST Scrimmage #2 and NH FTC Qualifier #5 (26 teams) at Windham Center School, taking on roles from field inspection to emceeing, and even ran a community snow-shoveling service to help our neighbors.

Sustainability plan

We keep the team thriving year over year through six pillars: team continuity (experienced members mentor newcomers and we stay connected with alumni), knowledge transfer (engineering notebooks, CAD libraries, and code templates), recruitment (engaging youth and professionals through outreach), funding stability (fundraising through concessions, recycled parts, and Mission FTC-Possible), resource stability (an organized, well-maintained, safe workspace), and succession (setting SMART goals each season and improving our processes).
